In the time of the Old Ones…
As beings grew into greater and greater powers, eventually the universe became too small. And so a time of trouble and turmoil began as a struggle for supremacy raged across the worlds and the spaces in between. In time… the young upstart Jargus emerged and stood alone amongst the ruins and wreckage of what was.
And so he gathered into him, all of the power of those who had gone, and he slept.
Many scores of trillions of years passed, and from his dreams sprang forth a new universe with mortals to populate it. Born of the ashes and nurtured in the heat of Jargus’ slumber, godlings appeared. Empowered by the veneration of the mortals and the dormant power of the sleeping titan, the godlings grew into great and greater powers themselves.
After a time, weakness and hunger awakened Jargus to a world reborn; where he was merely one of many, rather than one apart. And so, with the last of his ancient strength, he plucked a spark from the flame that was his body and sent it down to the earth. Thus was born his herald, Smiter!
With no memory of his divine origin, Smiter seeks only to gather power and to serve his god, so that one day Jargus may again fully manifest himself in the mortal world. What happens after that… only the gods can know.
